Balkan Communication Journal is an English-language academic journal that serves as an interdisciplinary platform for publishing and discussing the most current themes and achievements in the field of media and communications in the Balkans. The publication includes scholarly articles focused on both theoretical and practical aspects of media and communication processes in the contemporary world, analyses of current trends and innovations, as well as the impact of media on society in the region.
The journal is published by the Department of Media and Communication at New Bulgarian University, it also aims to bring together media research from countries in the region - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey.
Balkan Communication Journal is published twice a year. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process and is distributed with open access.
